Carytown Sound is a new (2023) high-end audio salon located in Richmond, VA.
I’ve been there a couple of times now and it’s a fantastic operation, founded and headed up by former local bike-shop owner, Tim Mullins.
The staff are warm and friendly and happy to make time for casual walk-ins, and they’re also knowledgable and passionate about the hobby and the gear they sell.
Speaking of gear, I was very pleasantly surprised to see the latest horn-loaded speakers from Heretic Sound System, Fleetwood Sound, and Klipsch (Khorns and Cornwalls on demo/display). Other speaker brands include Graham Audio, Harbeth, and Canton. Tim obviously has very good taste in speakers and has a leaning toward the classic British sound, as evidenced by the inclusion of both Harbeth and Graham Audio in his speaker lines.
There’s a range of interesting electronics, including an amp manufacturer that I haven’t encountered before – MoonRiver Audio, source components from T+A, MoFi, and Hegel, and analog sources from Dr. Feickert, and Bergmann Audio. For a full list visit their brands page here.
If you’re in the area stop in and say hello to Tim and Justin and tell them Carl sent you from Audio Resurgence!
Excellent addition to the high-end community and I wish them the very best with this new venture.
